I have ascertained that the party from His Majesty's Ship "Flora" which in co-operation with a detachment of the Royal Garrison Artillery rescued over 100 Chinese from the German S. S. "Apenrade" wrecked off Stonecutters' Island was a range party under Lieutenant Humphrey R. U. Cottrell-Dormer and that Stoker William H. Oliver and Petty Officer Frederick L. Maunder, in the order named were the first to swim off to the wrecked vessel. The Commodore informs me that the services of these two men will be brought before the Royal Humane Society.
